With a nuanced approach to surface and process, this painting evokes a sense of palimpsest, where layers of colour and texture simultaneously conceal and reveal themselves, suggesting histories overwritten yet persisting beneath the surface. Here the painting suggests a reflective surface, a mirror, possible backyard bricolage and ad hoc structural fixes, that has been printed on using mono-printing techniques. This work is about evocation and the lived experience of aestheticscolour, form, structures, and the meanings we bestow upon them. I am particularly interested in colour and its power to transform meaning.
